Frequently Asked Questions

Some Basics

What does Revd do?

Revd empowers fans, brands and venues to partner and create unique, intimate events with celebrity and established talent. The Company's platform lets fans set ticket prices for events they love through online sealed-bid auction-style bidding. Revd is also leveling the playing field and making it simple for potential sponsors or venues to become part of these great events. Any brand, any venue, anywhere can bid to sponsor and host these events, helping bring fan inspired experiences to their local area. This enables talent to connect directly and efficiently with fans, brands and venues who value their events the most, without costly layers in between.

Revd's mission is to power intimate events imagined and inspired by fans, while leveraging technology to reinvent the way these events happen.

Can you explain the ticket packages and seating options?

Here's what each of the different ticket packages mean:

General Admission - Standing Room Only:
This means there will be no chairs or reserved seating and you will be standing for the event. Our events are smaller in size so everyone should feel "up-front" and close to the talent.

General Admission - Standing Room Only, Limited Seating:
This means there will be a few chairs around the event area available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Otherwise you will be standing for the event.

General Admission - Full Seating:
This means there will be enough chairs for all attendees of an event, available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

General Admission - Reserved Seating:
This means there will be enough chairs for all attendees of an event and each ticket holder will have a specific seat.

VIP - Standing Room Only:
This means there will be no chairs or reserved seating and you will be standing for the event, but we will reserve a specific VIP standing area next to the stage.

Information for Fans and Event Attendees

How does fan bidding work for event tickets?

The winning bidders for each ticket package will all pay the same amount for their respective package, and will all pay less than their original bid. First, think of this as a sealed-bid silent auction with some additional protection for bidders. You only have 1 bid and you don't know what anyone else will be bidding. But that's okay. You only need to decide what the ticket package you've selected is worth to you (the most you would be willing to pay) and bid accordingly. The final price per ticket for each of VIP and GA will be the bid amount just below the lowest winning bid for that particular package. So if you win, you'll always pay less and always pay the same price per ticket package as every other winning bidder! You also don't have to stress about when you place your bid, just as long as you place your bid before the auction ends.

Can you give me a fan bidding example?

For example, let's say there were only 220 GA seats available and 1000 bids were placed. If the top 220 bids from GA bidders were (as an example only) $150 per ticket, $147, $130, etc., with a lowest winning bid of $110, then the top bidders would all pay whatever the GA bid was just below $110. So in this example, if the lowest winning bid for a GA ticket was $110 and the bid just below that was $100 - all winning GA bidders would pay $100 per GA ticket. Remember, you only have 1 bid that you may place per ticket package, but you can place your best bid with confidence. In the rare event of a tie for the lowest winning bid to receive a ticket, winner(s) will be selected at random.

Does it help to place my bid earlier or later in the process?

No. Our process is more relaxed in that you don't have to be on the site right when bidding opens, nor do you have to be one the site right before bidding closes. Winning bidders for tickets are simply decided based on bid amounts. That said, we encourage you to place your bid earlier in the process once you've taken a moment to decide what it's worth to you. Life is busy and you don't want to risk forgetting to place a bid before bidding closes and possibly miss out on event you'll love!

How much should I bid for an event ticket?

Your bid amount is a personal decision, but here are some things to consider. You only have 1 bid. So take a moment and ask yourself, what's the most I'd be willing to pay to go to this event? Would I pay $100 to go to this event? Would I pay $200 to go to this event? Once you get to an amount where the answer is "no", the last amount where you said "yes" is a good guide for your bid. Note that celebrity event tickets with close proximity to the talent often sell for hundreds to thousands of $USD. Remember, if you win you'll always pay less than what you bid and the same price as all other winning bidders for your ticket package. So place your best bid.

Anything else I should know about fan bidding?

It's up to you to make this happen! This event will only occur if fan, sponsor and venue bidding collectively cover the private reserve for event expenses. If the reserve is not met, this event will not happen and no one will be charged. We encourage you to share the event with friends, since more bids increases the possibility that the private reserve will be met and that everyone will get to enjoy a great event.

Can I cancel my bid for an event once I've submitted it?

You will have multiple chances to review your bid before submitting it. Once submitted, bids on Revd cannot be cancelled or changed, and refunds are not allowed unless the event is cancelled. If your bid is not an accepted winning bid, your credit card will not be charged.

Can I resell my ticket to the event to someone else?

Tickets are non-refundable, unless an event is cancelled or rescheduled (and you can't make the new date). We understand things can sometimes come up unexpectedly, so you may re-sell a ticket at face value (or for less). Please be aware that a ticket to a Revd event may not be re-sold or transferred for profit or commercial advantage. If this occurs, the ticket is voidable and the ticket holder may be denied entry to the event.

Can I take pictures or videos at the event?

This will be decided on an event-by-event basis. Please carefully review the language in the "About This Event" section for the event you're bidding on, as well as the information on your ticket if you are a winning bidder. In most cases, you may take pictures and video clips with your personal mobile device at the event, provided that (i) you do not use professional equipment, (ii) you do not obstruct others' views or distract the performer or other attendees, (iii) you do not record the entire event or substantially all of the event, and (iv) you display and distribute any recorded content solely for personal use and otherwise in accordance with Revd's Terms of Service

Information for Sponsors

How does sponsor bidding work for event sponsor packages?

Winning sponsors will pay the same price per sponsor package, which will be the lowest winning bid amount. First, think of this as a sealed-bid silent auction with some additional protection for bidders. Simply decide what the sponsor package is worth to you (the most you would be willing to pay) and bid accordingly. Winning sponsors will pay the same price per sponsor package, which will be the lowest winning bid amount. You can also add an "in-kind" offer, but the price per sponsor package will be based on bid amounts. In-kind offers will only be used for tie-breaker consideration. The winning sponsor(s) will be selected based on talent team's discretion and must be clear of any conflict with existing talent endorsement relationships.

Can you give me a sponsor bidding example?

For example, let's say there were 10 sponsor bids of $25,000, $23,000 $20,000, $19,500, $18,250, etc. and talent selects the two sponsors who bid $23,000 and $19,500. In this example, both winning sponsors would pay $19,500 regardless of any potential "in-kind" offer. However, if a sponsor chooses to include an in-kind offer, it will be included in their final sponsor agreement.

What kinds of sponsor packages are available?

We standardize all sponsor packages to some combination of (i) mention of sponsor in social media posts by the event talent, (ii) professionally shot photos of the talent in front of a step-and-repeat board with sponsor logo for circulation to press outlets, (iii) some number of VIP Experience tickets, and (iv) mention of sponsor in post-event press releases and archived page regarding the event within the Revd site. These packages are non-negotiable in order to make the process more efficient and streamlined in terms of a standard sponsor agreement. Please see "Sponsor This Event" section of the event for the specific available sponsor package.

Anything else I should know about sponsor bidding?

It's up to you to make this happen! This event will only occur if fan, sponsor and venue bidding collectively cover the private reserve for event expenses. If the reserve is not met, this event will not happen and no one will be charged.

Information for Talent

Why should I used Revd to power my event?

Revd helps talent connect directly and efficiently with fans, brands and venues who value their events the most, without costly layers in between. Our platform helps talent better monetize their events and brand, tapping market demand to create new opportunities. We believe that Revd's technology combined with social media allows talent to effectively promote their events to fans. Revd also gives brands and venues any size, anywhere the ability to team-up with fans to bring great events to their local area. Our patentpending bidding model is fair to all parties by allowing the market to set value for ticket prices, sponsor packages and venue offers — while also ensuring those who value these events the most have the opportunity to bid for them. In addition, talent can set a private reserve that meets their goals and is fair to fans overall. Privacy is important to us, so the private reserve amount is never released publicly by Revd.

Can you help with understanding demand for future events?

If you represent talent and use Revd to power an event, we can analyze bidding results and better understand market demand for your future events. This information gives us a strong predictor of potential overall demand and ticket pricing for future events, while helping minimize risk.

What happens to the revenue that Revd generates for my event?

Talent invests and takes risks in building their brand and career. So it only seems fair that our platform efficiently drives a significant percentage of all event revenue to talent and their teams. Currently a minimum of 80% of all revenue generated from fan, sponsor and venue commitments (and up to 96% for charitable events, including approximately 4% for payment processor costs) goes to the talent for their events. You won't find mysterious line item costs & expenses. We share revenue information fully (and privately) with talent and their teams as we believe that Revd is here to help empower talent. Additionally, our bidding model helps limit scenarios where valuable tickets with close proximity to the talent are bought for lower amounts and resold for higher amounts — with those proceeds not going to the talent, but to ticket resellers instead. Revd helps assure that those who value tickets the most have their ticket dollars go to the talent they're trying to support!

Do I have to schedule a minimum number of events on Revd?

We believe that talent should be able to create intimate events on the fly and not be restricted to a specific touring schedule. Our platform allows talent this opportunity and flexibility. If you know you'll be in a city at a particular time and you have a free evening, please contact us (in time this will become self service). Our focus is on unique intimate event with fans, that feel more stripped down and personal. Whether an unplugged performance or a fireside chat, a Q&A with fans or a VIP dinner, the options are only limited by one's imagination.

What kinds of celebrity and established talent can used Revd?

Revd is just launching and we're planning our next events. We're open to talent from any field and would love to hear from talent and their teams. Actor/actress, artist, chef, comedian, dancer, model, sports figure, television personality, etc. are all welcome. If you have a fan base that you believe you can reach effectively (e.g. through social media, etc.) and an idea for an intimate event that you'd like Revd to power for you, please contact us.

When will Revd be open to all celebrity and established talent?

Revd plans to continue to expand its platform carefully but efficiently. We are breaking new ground with how we support talent and want to make sure we've scrutinized those processes fully before we open the platform more broadly.
